More Ghosts

Okay a quick post today... 3 more ghosts have joined the ranks bringing the total to 9 so far. 1 is a preslotta citadel ghost with lantern, 1 is the 4th edition ghost with his arms outstretched and the last is a grenadier ghost mini I have in the box of grenadier minis.
I'm not 100% sure I like the 4th edition sculpt (I never really liked it much) but it does herald back to my early fantasy playing days from when I started warhammer in the early 90's so its in..

Undead Skeleton Reapers Complete

Okay after a brief hiatus from painting due to life I am back :)

Got my reapers finished over the last few weeks and have a 2000 point undead vs dwarf battle set for tomorrow..
Unfortunately the battle will be with unpainted stuff so no nice pics but the idea will be to learn the rules a bit better.

Anyway light has been bad recently so not the best pics in the world but hopefully you will get the general idea and 1 day I might be able to take a decent photo ;)

I am not 100% happy with the standard and may go back to him some day to alter it. Maybe another colour to spit it or a border added..

A Vampire, a book and some Knights of Law

Okay I am still about and painting.. A bit slower now though as I am doing an extra hour a day at work so not getting home until 7 and finished settling and eating by 8 :(

But I have been plodding along and painting a few bits. I even managed to get a small 300pt skirmish in of 3rd edition during the week.... No pics of the skirmish as the scenery needs work but I will be working on it so pics will be up son of battles.

Anyway what I have done recently.
3 of the Knights of Law box set are painted. I have decided to go for some of the old coloured metallic on some parts just for the hell of it.. These will be used as random warriors for all sorts of scenarios.
I have also done a night horror vampire and a random book on a pedestal I had laying about (not sure what to do with the base yet).

August Painting Challenge - Chaos Warband

Okay this one is going to be a bit of a rush..
I need to get these finished in time for the Oldhammer event taking place at Wargames Foundry (thank you) at the end of august beginning of September weekend.
My warband consists of
1 Chaos Champion
1 Undead version if he dies
2 Dwarves with crossbows
5 Dwarves
2 Ogres
10 Cultists disguised as the Knight of Law Preslotta Box Set ;)

So I have flash trimmed and glued to bases so far. Will be hopefully putting a mix of sand/slate/glue gloop on the bases today after this so they can dry overnight ready for undercoats and slapping of paint onto them..

Okay June is done and dusted.. Just in time for the start of next weeks August Challenge.

Not much to say other than it is a unit of 30 skeletons with heavy armour and shields lead by a fallen champion.. Now just a level 5 skeleton champion.

Manfish - Yes they were really called that

Okay a few posts today as I have been slacking and have a lot of updates.
Firstly I have decided that since I receive a lot of lead through various channels I will only be posting pieces that I consider rarer than the usual everyday mini's and stuff I am painting (for now anyways).

These come under that list ;)

Manfish came out in 1st edition and seemed to have died with it. Not sure why maybe they tasted like tuna and due to there terrible stat line were all wiped out and cooked..
These were made in the day with the weapons separate so most come up with bare open hands. Fortunately I got 2 spears with mine but I will need to source 4 alternate weapons for the others. The spears in the pic still have the metal sprue tabs on the end so don't worry they are not miscasts.

Not decided on a paint scheme yet. I will need to look at some fish in nature and pick something (no not a clown fish).

anyway here they are.

I have printed out a new background to hopefully make the pics a bit better. Let me know if it works?

Okay I have got some progress on my July challenge for the Oldhammer forums ;)

The first 9 of the unit are done except for shields and basing which I am planning to do last.

Lead by a minor chaos champion (counts as an undead hero) whose soul has been trapped by necromancy preventing him from travelling to the afterlife..

Oldhammer Painting Month

Hi all,

Midweek update ;)
Over on the Oldhammer forum a group of us have started painting together to help get some of the mountain of lead we own between us painted before it either rots away or we do..
It started last weekend and finishes up at the end of July. Now with this in mind and a realisation of just how much lead I have I have started to paint with a new outlook.
I have picked a unit of 30 skeletons mixed between the original FTS series preslotta, later C series preslotta and a splattering of later slotta skellies from marauder, GW and good Old Bob Olleys own.

This is how they started out. I will put some updates up next weekend. Not a great pic but I will do better next week.

New Lead Again

Had a few more parcels turn up these last couple of weeks with some new toys inside :)
The postman must be getting sick of weighty parcels always coming here...

Finally got a start to the Sven scenario minis with 4 Norse, 5 Slann and a Slave. Some preslotta dwarves in there including the mail order special. A skeleton standard again preslotta. 2 new preslotta zombies 1 of which is the zombie corpse or as my friend put it a zombie laying in wait for a nearby snack human to arrive. Plus a few other goodies as you can see.
There is a few I am not sure on what they are but I like them all so I am happy..

More Reapers Done

Okay after a brief hiatus due to illness and general life I am back on form.. Finished painting 4 more Reapers to get a starting squad of 10 done. The minimum required for a 3k undead army in 3rd edition.
I may go on to finish them or more likely I will go onto a generic skeleton unit with hand weapons next..

Anyway onto some pics.

Painted Undead Minis....

Okay its official, I am actually painting my lead pile :)

Firstly apologies for those expecting an update last week I contracted deadly man flu and played the xbox all weekend..

I did not get everything I wanted done as a lot of the week was absorbed sorting through my minis again and shelving a 40k RT Ork horde (which will be being painted on this blog at some point) and ebaying the bits I don't want (go check it out there is a forgeworld baneblade at 99p start)..

Okay apologies and flogging my crap over here is what I've got so far. I have not based anything yet, still gathering materials for it. Just need stones now...
