Little Distractions... Squats are here.

Okay painting skele's all week every week is a hard task for me as I have a lot of minis and I always seem to have a new flavour of the week.
Earlier this week I decided to sort my Squat army out and start assembling and putting them up on one of the display units.
Before I new what was going on I had primed and painted a test mini. This has lead to a unit... nothing special as they are just rank and file.

More Skeleton Reapers

Hi all from the Sunny South Coast.
I got a lot done  this week so I'm quite pleased. 6 Reapers are now done in total so I am getting closer to the minimum 10 requirement. I am using the death elemental as the champion after seeing Pil's amazing blog and blatantly stealing his idea (sorry Pil)..
anyway pics below.

New lead mk2

One more post for the weekend then I am back to painting while the sun is hitting my desk and warming me ;)

New Lead for the last 2 weeks. A few trades came up and a nice pile was returned. I finally have my first amazon mini. A few more undead for the horde. The Ror knight of Origo champion (just need the basic dudes now). An old Wizard I always wanted when I was a wee lad. some dwarves and a few more furniture/door bits... Enjoy

Painted Undead Minis....

Okay its official, I am actually painting my lead pile :)

Firstly apologies for those expecting an update last week I contracted deadly man flu and played the xbox all weekend..

I did not get everything I wanted done as a lot of the week was absorbed sorting through my minis again and shelving a 40k RT Ork horde (which will be being painted on this blog at some point) and ebaying the bits I don't want (go check it out there is a forgeworld baneblade at 99p start)..

Okay apologies and flogging my crap over here is what I've got so far. I have not based anything yet, still gathering materials for it. Just need stones now...

More New Stuff

Continued..

Until next week....

New Stuff of the Week

Okay aswell as painting, sorting my Orks and sorting my Chaos Daemons onto a new set of shelves, I also had a few new bits arrive. See how many you can identify....

More pics in the next blog.. I need to work out how to have more than 2 large pics..

I Have Painted Something.....

Okay it has finally happened... I spent all week sorting and washing Rogue Trader era Orks for a trade after discovering they got a bit gunky while moving. this morning I realised that I had not done what I wanted to do. Paint at least 1 mini a week for the blog.
So I sat down at 8am and started on Sigfried a Lvl 5 Necromancer for my 3rd edition army...

He is the old FA25 necromancer mini. Not a great sculpt but he has character. I have not done the base yet and the final wash of devlan mud had not dried when the pic was done. There are a few bits I want to finish up but that will be later on.

Back view

A bit about him.

Sigfried was a priest in a small town. Turned to the priesthood after his wife and love died having there daughter. Years later an overzealous witch hunter stopped by in the town searching for a staff of bone he had heard rumour of. Not finding what he wanted and being refused entry to the sacred crypts by Sigfried he turned to the daughter.
Declaring her a witch Sigfried daughter was killed in what Sigfried saw as a spiteful attempt at revenge by the witch hunter and the Empire in general.
In a fit of rage Sigfried smashed the sacred seals of the crypt protecting the relics and bodies of prominent members of the imperial villages past. Upon finding the staff he snatched it up originally intending upon destroying the sacred relic.
Upon snatching it from the dead hands of a long forgotten sorcerer the staff sprung back to wakefulness from its slumber. Detecting Sigfrieds intention it instead whispered incantations of power into his mind. showing him how he could take his revenge not only against the witch hunter but against the very empire that sent him here.
Sigfried possessed with new thoughts and ideas embraced such a plot and ventured further into the crypts to search out suitable warriors for his revenge....

More Undead

Okay that's it for today. I will post more pics as I get stuff done and try for regular updates...

Okay a few close up pics of various parts of the table before I put it back in the cabinet and actually start painting something..

Okay the big intro post.. bare with me while I learn this site I am sure it will get better over time.
I have been gaming since the late 80s where I started with DnD. It wasn't until I went past the Peterborough GW in around 93/94 that I first got into wargaming and when I did I was hooked.

I first started with Undead for fantasy and Chaos for 40k. My undead grew over the next decade until a climatic game at the GW store where I fielded 25,000pts vs all the stores armies plus whatever people brought in. Later that year I moved down south to Hastings and traded off my undead for fantasy chaos..

I built these up through 5th and 6th edition but the game itself had lost a lot and I turned to collecting only. A few years later I sold off my chaos at around 85% of a complete collection to go into Rogue Trader collecting.

I am still collecting rogue trader minis now and so far have completed Marines, Chaos Marines, Eldar, Slann and am still hunting the remaining pieces for squats, guard, orks, genestealers. Some of these are very rare now and I am happy to say I have a few of the unreleased and limited release minis too. A lot of these are in storage at the moment as I moved at Christmas 2012/2013 and work has slowed the unpacking to a crawl.

Around Christmas time I found the joy of 3rd edition warhammer and was again instantly hooked and started getting the minis I always wanted when I first started but could not afford on my pocket money/paper round. Now a few months later with numerous ebay bids and trading I have a sizable army consisting of minis from the preslotta range through to a few newer minis I  particularly enjoy.

This blog will help me paint my minis up over the coming years and I will be posting battle reports once I have sorted out scenery and opponents...

For now enjoy a pic of my army on a 4ft by 4ft gaming table of which I have 2 that will be redone at some point for fantasy games...
